Hot new electro rock stars VIVA CITY play their last London gig this week before they jet off to play the hugely influential South by South West international showcase in Texas, in March. Viva City revisit The Flowerpot, Camden on Friday 12 February 2010, to unleash their storming tracks mashing dirty guitars, throbbing d’n’b basslines and anthemic vocals, fused with Viva City’s trademark electronic wizardry.

A spokesperson from the Flowerpot says: “We put Newcastle's Viva City on last year: a fantastic band mixing dance and rock. They blew the place apart - and it was a Monday night. Viva City make Friday night music and we have learnt from our mistakes!”

Viva City are hotly tipped as a band to watch in 2010. Produced by the Kosheen DJs, the innovative four piece have had a great start to the year, supporting The Sugababes, Pixie Lott and N-Dubz at Channel 4’s new festival ‘Outside In’ at the end of January. And as one of only a few UK bands invited to play at the high-profile SXSW in Austin, Texas, Viva City are poised to explode their audaciously exciting sound onto the world stage.

Winning critical acclaim for their first three singles, Viva City continue to garner fantastic support. Praising their edgy, darkly hypnotic track ‘Behold’, David Sinclair, The Times said the single is: "As if the Prodigy suddenly discovered how to write good tunes". Legendary BBC DJ Tom Robinson recently chose their indie chart hit debut single ‘Kate Bush’ as one of his fave tracks declaring it ‘classic electro rock’ and ‘sheer genius’, and their second single as “Leering, sneering, swaggering electro-strut."
