A series of open air concerts have been announced in Wigan.

Are You “Tuned-In” To Wigan?

One of the biggest series of music concerts in the history of Wigan is currently being organised.

For five days from 5 July to 9 July 2010 some of the UK’s top acts will perform in an open air arena near to the grand Grade II listed Haigh Hall on the outskirts of the borough of Wigan.

McFly and The Saturdays have already been signed to appear at the Wigan Life Tuned-In Concerts and orgainsers, Wigan Leisure and Culture Trust, are currently in contract negotiations with three other artists.

McFly will perform on Monday 5 July and The Saturdays on Thursday 8 July. Tickets for these two events will be on sale from 9am Friday 26 February and are available from national ticketing partner Ticketmaster or via Wigan Tourist Information Centre on 01942 825 677. Tickets cost £27.50 and booking fees will apply.

The Wigan Life Tuned-In Concerts series is part of a much wider “summer of sound” planned across Wigan in 2010. On 4 July the borough’s best unsigned acts will be able to perform at the arena ahead of the concert series for the 2010 Haigh Fest. This free annual celebration of the borough’s best unsigned bands is now in its eighth year. Immediately following the Wigan Life Tuned-In Concerts Wigan’s 25th International Jazz Festival (10 July to 17 July) will start at Robin Park.

Further details about the three remaining acts will be released at the end of March.
